Hi there! Hope you're spring is going well! Things are really blooming around here and I'm thankful for a bit of a warm up.

Just been doing a little of this and that, but here are some peeks for tonight... I'll be putting 2 Mother's Day cards on Etsy and the Sports Guy layout on eBay later this evening.

Pink Dogwood tree surprise

This is our first Spring in this house. When we first moved in, I noticed an average looking tree out front but didn't pay much attention to it. Until now... I noticed last week it had some buds on it and smooth bark like the dogwood trees in the neighborhood. But, it wasn't in bloom like the other dogwood trees. One day, on my way home from walking the dog, I noticed the buds opening and took a closer look. To my surprise, it is a Pink Dogwood! I've always wanted one of these beauties! Sorry, but I couldn't seem to stop taking pictures of it... Enjoy!

spring cleaning.

I'm here, really I am! Sorry about being MIA for so long. I've been cleaning the house. You know the kind of cleaning you only do once or twice a year. Blinds, hardwoods, furniture... Actually cleaning out stuff like the scrap room, too. I have a before shot for you. So embarrassing. But, the after shot is coming.


I also set up my guest bedroom for my sweet sister-in-law to come. I got the bedding at Target and LOVE it. She's a shabby chic kind of girl too, so I'm pretty confident she'll love it. I changed to my summer bedding on my bed. It's not as girly. I figure I will give hubby a break on the winter flowers over the summer with some stripes. :-)
Since we moved to this smaller house, it is faster to clean, but it seems to get messier quicker! I love how easy and pretty the hardwoods are, too. I guess while I'm putting pics up, I might as well show you the living room...
Dining and kitchen...

The kitchen is pretty small, but it's open to the living room and dining area, which I love. Anyway, I know it won't make it into any magazines, but I feel I've made it "home" for us. :-)

rainy days + new photos = good time to scrap!

This weekend I made this cute layout with some of the new MME papers and chipboard. I also used a KI layered flower, Heidi Swapp "cherish" sticker, 7Gypsies quote sticker, Prima flower, MM letter stickers and added a little stitching so it didn't look like it was going to slide off the page. :-) Hope you had a nice weekend, too!

The sun is out today! Yea! Or as my Smart-alecky husband would say, the sun is always out, but there are a lack of clouds today.

Here's another layout I did... I used a lot of the Jenni B February kit and some of my favorite Melissa Frances paper!
I will upload better photos of those last layouts, too. I'm also working on some Valentine pages for Etsy later today, too! Bye for now!

I was feeling creative and inspired to make some layouts for myself this past weekend... So, I'll share a little peek with you! Sorry, the lighting is not so good. It has been dark and gloomy here. I used some BasicGrey and minimal embellies.

Libby's friend, Baxter is spending the weekend with us. They are both playful and after a few minutes of Baxter missing his mommy and daddy, they were off to the races!

Awe, so cute! You would think my Libby would be able to dominate the situation, but it turns out, she doesn't know she's bigger than Baxter. LOL!

Inspire me, Valentine.

I admit it. I love magazines. Lately, I've been making a transition from Scrapbook magazines to Home and decor magazines. Here is a shot from the last page of Country Living mag. Yummy eye candy.

It gave me an idea... I have had an adorable heart album by Maya Road for a while now. It has been waiting patiently in my basket of albums to be used in a creation of some kind. It's one of those things that you want to SAVE until you are inspired to make something incredible with. I'm bad about saving my beloved, cool, beautiful things. Anyone else have this problem? Common, I know you're out there!

So, here is a start of what I'm going to do with that precious, Maya Road album in a heart-shaped box. I'm going to put a pink, satin ribbon around the box so that it can hang on the wall. Inside the box, there will be a decorated scrapbook album too! More pics to come...

Defrosting.

So, yesterday, it was still pretty frozen around here. Thankfully, the weather changes quickly and it's nice out today. Here's a pic of a cardinal that looks frozen out there! They must love the cold weather because there were as many as 4 male cardinals at one time in my back yard yesterday.

Today, I'm working on a desk calendar for Ebay for this week. I did some hand embroidery on the cover and used fabric and canvas over chipboard. You could carry it around in your purse if you wanted, (it's kinda small) but I had desk calendar in mind while making it. :-)

Wintery mix.

Brrr! It's hard to believe that just 2 days ago it was warm and sunny! Today, we are having some wintery mix and what I thought were just water droplets on the trees are actually frozen water droplets!
I love photographing birds. It seems, in the winter the Cardinals look so much brighter. Here are a few shots I've taken. {Used Nikon D40 with 55-200 lens.}

doggie torture & wedding album.

No, I wouldn't torture my doggie, but if she could talk, she would probably say that I do with these antlers! Don't worry, she gets treats for posing. She really doesn't see the point in wearing these antlers, but it makes mommy laugh! Merry, merry!

Look at those crazy eyes she's giving me! LOL!

I also thought I'd share some pics from a present I made for my BIL and his wife. I kept it simple and classic so hopefully in a few years I don't look back and say, "What was I thinking!?" like I do with my wedding album.

less than a week!

YIKES! Okay, I'm not going to stress! I'm so close to being finished wrapping, packaging, mailing, baking, card writing, crafting, etc... I think today is the day! So exciting to see these packages off.
So, I have this old photo of me reading something at the school Christmas program about a million years ago as my photo today...

Hi! I hope all is calm and all is bright at your house! I'm trying to stay calm and get it all done.

I made some cute snow couples for gifts last night. They are almost finished. I think I'm going to add some rub-ons to the glass on the bottom.
