busy elf

I know, it's a busy time of year! Well, this year, I decided to make most of my gifts... I started 2 new craft projects this year and they have both kept me busy, but I can only share one with you right now since someone I made the others for reads my blog... But the one I can share with you is a quilt I made. I've been wanting to try and make a quilt for a while now. What better time that Christmas! I made my MIL a lap quilt for the couch. But, I purchased the throw at TJ Maxx because it was less expensive than buying that "minky" fabric and filling, etc. I thought I would do the top quilt part and just stitch it to the throw. Well, it was more difficult to get everything straight than I thought it would be. My hubby tried to make me feel better by saying that it looks great and she'll love it. It looks crooked. But, as long as she doesn't hang it on the wall, maybe she won't notice?Alright, next up, something I know how to do... Scrapbook! Here are two more DT layouts for Shabby Chic Memories...
Me and my mom...
My little brother
Hope you are enjoying your Christmas season! Even though I'm busy, I still am really enjoying this time of year. It really IS the most wonderful time of the year!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I love this holiday because it's all about family and together and being thankful for what you have. No gifts, just food, family and friends.

Okay, enough with the mushy stuff... Here is the last set of "25 Days of Christmas" numbers I will be selling this season. I put them on Etsy, so you can purchase them before Dec. 1, if you like.

The second set is on eBay and will end Dec. 1, but I can ship that same day since the auction ends early.
More DT projects coming soon! :-)

make it fun

A little reminder, to make it fun. I would use these stairs all the time!

layouts from camping trip

Okay, I know the title of this blog entry is not so thrilling, but it's hard to come up with a title sometimes! :-) So, on with the layouts! I just finished the journaling. Not sure if or what I will journal on the "golf" one... Still mulling that over, but there is plenty of space below the title if/when I decide to. I hate to waste good paper, so a little tip is that I used the MM paper on the top to trace on the argyle paper on the bottom. Then, I cut inside the line all the way around and got an extra piece of shaped paper! Love the argyle for the "golf" layout! :-)

Left side of 2-page layout from our trip to Italy in 2002...

Right side is a pocket page for the hotel brochure and the anniversary cards we gave each other that year. I simply cut a slit in the paper and put lace on the edge of the slit to pretty it up a bit.

Also, working on a December Daily album for eBay... Hope to get it done this week for you! Bye for now!

camping, scrapping, and fishing.

Not all at the same time, but almost! We just got back from a 5-day camping trip on the White River in the Ozarks. It was nice and relaxing... for the most part.
I will be back with the layouts I did while we were there. I have to finish the journaling on them first though. :-) Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
Getting ready to fish
Neal caught 4 total. All rainbow trout. He caught a Brook trout, too but they have to be 24" to keep this time of year.
Fishy, fishy in the brook...
My trout, caught on a baby trout spinner. Guess they are cannibalistic!
Where the spring comes into the river... Good fishin' here!
A little foggy in the morning, but so pretty.

still raining

Yes, it is still raining here in Seattle... I mean Arkansas. I think we've had something like 16 inches for the month! About 5 of which were yesterday. My basement is leaking which I'm not happy about, but at least it only happens when we get a whole lot of rain! Trying to look on the bright side, here.

Okay, so I have been working on re-doing my wedding album. I'm not one to "re-do" any of my layouts, but my wedding album was the first scrapbooking I did when I was new to the hobby 11 years ago. That being said, you can probably understand how I'm rather tired of the heart shaped photos and all the rest of the sticker barf, etc. going on in my wedding album. If you've been scrapbooking for a while, you know exactly what I'm talking about. :-)

Anyway, I have to re-print photos and such and thought it might be cool to make some black and white so I did a little work on this one and blurred the edges and made it black and white. I used BasicGrey papers, Prima flower, Queen & Co felt leaves, and some rub-ons.
Hope you're staying dry!

Be back soon!

up to...

What have I been up to? We swapped our bedroom with the scrap/office and I have been trying to get it all sorted out and organized for the past week or so. I took a break from my "almost" organized scrap/office to actually USE the room and make this layout. I made one more, but I haven't finished the journaling yet. Looking forward to getting the room finished and posting pics soon! :-) Hope you're having a great weekend!

Weekend.

Did you have a good weekend? Even though I didn't get as many photos scrapped, I did get a couple layouts done.
Also, went to see Bebo Norman, Natalie Grant and Jeremy Camp last night and they were all fabulous! So worth the $22. (Sorry about the photo quality... These were taken with my camera phone.)

All in all, it was a great weekend! Hope you had a good one, too!

new stack of photos.

Just got these in the mail the other day. Some might fight this 3" stack of photos overwhelming, but not me! Well, maybe not... Just going to do some scrappin' this weekend. Will hopefully share some layouts by Monday!

back from Boston!

Hi there!
Well, I took a quick trip to Boston on Friday and got back Monday. I met my hubby up there. He had a weekend layover for work and I've always wanted to visit Boston. Thanks to the airlines, my trip was shortened a night, but we still had a great time...

USS Constitution

Fenway Park - Pronounced Fenway PAAAAAAK!

View from Boston Harbor

And a layout to share... From our Hawaii trip a couple years ago. I took about 300 photos. And no, I won't scrapbook them all. :-) But, I'm about halfway through with what I will scrapbook from that trip.
