Scraproom

Okay, I have been meaning to post photos of my scraproom, but it never seems to be just perfect, cleaned, or uncluttered! So, I'm just doing it, so please don't judge. Haha! It's a bit messy, but I love to stay pretty organized and found some things that work great for me and wanted to share.

Thanks to my iPhone, I was able to take a couple of panorama photos:

I also work (real job) from home in this space, so the desk is used for everything. The file cabinet is work stuff, printer and fax, while the rest is mostly scrapbook and craft stuff. I finally got my dream desk by Pottery Barn off Craigslist! Yay!

Starting on the left, is an unfinished nightstand with my sewing machine and of course there's ribbon and other stuff in the drawers.
Then, my Ikea bookcase. Flowers in jars on top sorted by color, baskets hold mini albums, jewelry making stuff, small pads of pattern paper, fabric, card making stuff... Then, my albums by year on the bottom. I use Snapfish to print most of my photos as I get them back, they go in sheet protectors into the albums by date. Also, all journaling goes in these same sheet protectors. Whenever I get ready to scrapbook, I just pull out an album and I'm ready to go!

My desk drawers are handy. I keep the stuff I use the most on the top left (see below):
Tags, buttons, stamps, date stamp and whatever latest and greatest thing I'm using a lot of lately.
The middle drawer (not pictured) has stickers from 7Gypsies, epoxy stickers and other yummies. The bottom drawer is where I keep all of my alpha stickers, by color. (below):
One of the best ways I found to organize my embellishments is by color. I am very much inspired by color when I scrapbook, so I have stacked 3 drawer boxes one on top of the other with each drawer being a different color or two.

I have been toying with the idea of sorting all of my paper by color, too. But, it will be a huge job and I can typically remember what paper I want to pick out by the brand, so I have not made this leap yet. Any advice or feedback on that would be so helpful! To sort it, or not to sort it!?
I also have a dresser in my room that is between the two windows and an additional bookshelf. This is where my punches (all in a big basket), stamps, rub-on alphas, ink, stamps, extra adhesives, paint, etc. is kept. That will have to wait for another day though, it's messy! :-)

Christmas is just around the corner! Hope you have a wonderful day and take lots of pictures!

Glynda

Scrapbook page overload

Well, I hope I don't overload you with layouts today, but if you're anything like me, the more the merrier! haha! I have been scrappin' and not uploading, so here ya go. :-)

Also, I dropped the price of the Etsy travel kit listed below if you want to check them out. They are only $20 and I plan on listing on Ebay too... soon.

Here are the layouts I've been working on. I have been determined to finish Cancun while it's still fresh in my mind.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend! xoxoxo, Glynda

On a roll!

And I don't mean Jelly roll! Anyway, since I've last posted, the scraproom/office is now painted and the furniture back in place. I have been slowly but surely going through stuff and putting back into the room what I want to keep and use, and putting all the rest in a huge, plastic bin for selling and giving away. Whew! What a job, but I don't want to clutter up my room again and now that it's looking pretty, I've been inspired to scrap more! So, here are some of my most recent layouts...
On this one, I used some stationary from the hotel and also some stamps from Mexico

This one is a lift from the DT at Studio Calico. Love their kits!

Hopefully, I will have photos of my new scraproom office to show you soon! It's a slow process going through it all and deciding if it should stay or go. :-)

Cancun Layout #2

Which is actually layout #1 for the Cancun section as it features a photo of the sunrise of the first morning we were there.
I also have some fun news! I had been stalking Craigslist for a couple of years now (off and on) and finally someone was getting rid of their Pottery Barn desk! Wahoo! So, my office/scraproom is all torn a part and I'm going to paint and re-organize! I will post pics after! But, here's a pic of the desk and the color I'm thinking of going with from Pinterest:
Here is another inspiring room:
I really love the simplicity and design of this room. It's not too matchy-matchy either and a little modern. Still pondering the color of the walls... I'm open to suggestions!

We went to Cancun for nearly a week and really enjoyed some beach time! We celebrated our 14 yr anniversary and my ____ birthday! Haha! Here are some pics:
The first morning, we woke up early to a beautiful sunrise
The water was a beautiful turquoise

Pool at the hotel
Anniversary dinner in our own little hut on the water

We bought an underwater digital camera for the trip and took some cool pics of fish
On the beach by our hotel before dinner

Another beautiful Sunrise

View of the hotel grounds from our room
Xel-Ha - (pronounced Shell-ha) outdoor sort of water park for snorkeling, float the river, hiking, zip line
Oh yes, and Manatees!!! I love these cuties!
On the beach at the hotel
The last full day, we went to Chichen Itza and the cenotes nearby.
Goodbye Cancun!
Hope you all are having a great Spring/Summer wherever you are!
