DT peeks

Hi there!
Well, I got my new DT kit in the mail from Shabby Chic Memories and what fun I had making some yum, yums! :-) Here are some peeks:

And the Olympics... Gosh I will be sad when they are over, but last night was so exciting with the speed skating events! So excited for the women and men who skate for the US! Then, there was the slalom skiing. I was sad for the US women; they worked so hard! But, I'm proud of what they did accomplish, too.
Olympic quote of the day: "It's like her legs are at a rock concert and her upper body is at the opera." -announcer of the women's slalom ski event.

Catch up...

Let's see... what have I been up to? Well, watching the Olympics in the evenings for sure! I have a couple more quotes for you:
"That guy is a cat! I don't know how he landed that!" -Announcer of men's figure skater.
"Rollin' down the windows" -announcer of skier that lost their balance in the air.

Also, I've been really wanting it to be spring now! I'm tired of this freezing weather! So, since I can't change the weather, I made a couple spring-y projects for eBay. :-) Here's a peek:

double mctwist 1260

Huh? Okay, I'm not that "in to" snowboarding, but I love to watch those sweet tricks of Shaun White! You can see the video here. His now famous Double Mctwist 1260 rocks!

Also so excited to see the US women take gold and silver for the downhill. That was awesome, too! So proud of those girls!

Which brings me the Olympic quote of the day:
"He goes into what we call the kickin' chicken..." -announcer about a snowboard rider that lost his balance in the air.

Okay, I took a few flowers from my Valentine arrangement and put them in a small vase in the office so I could enjoy them while I work. This one is my favorite. So pretty!
Today, I finished up some pretty, felt flowers. Thinking of using these on a spring layout... Not sure yet though. :-)
Hope wherever you are, you are enjoying some sunshine! I know I am today!

Olympics

Not much going on today... Just internet and phone issues. Comcast strikes again! :-)

Last night, I watched the Olympics (big surprise). Which brings me to the....
Olympics quote of the day: "He rocked that pink tassel!" -About Johnny Weir's tassel on his skating outfit.
Just pulling for the US tomorrow night! YEA! Tonight, looking forward to snowboarding and Shaun White. More tomorrow!

hair thingies & Olympics

Hi there! Here are a couple more cutie hair thingies I made for Etsy.

Most people probably tune out the announcers for the Olympics, but it always has fascinated me how they can fill every bit of the airwaves during these events. The figure skating commentators were actually pretty quiet and I rather enjoy the music and lack of talking. It might have been nice to hear them them talk a bit more about what the skaters were doing though.

Olympic Quote of the Day:
"Honey, I married an Olympic gold metalist." -Announcer during the pairs figure skating event.

Encouraging word of the day:
"Pleasant words are as honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body." Prov 16:24

Be back soon!

Valentine, Olympics & Catching up...

Gee, I've missed you! Apologizing in advance for this random post, but it's been a while! :-)

Let's see... Valentines day was a sweet one here. Hubby sent flowers (even though he was here, he still wanted me to be surprised). Not just any flowers though. The
really nice ones from Red Envelope. Gosh, what a sweetie! Can you smell them? Lovely...We've also been having some COLD, snowy weather. I guess we all have! So strange for the south though.
Here are some lovely, shivering birds. I can almost hear them saying, "We flew south for this?!"
Only the Juncos are here in only in the winter. The rest of them are residents, but the are all fluffed up and look cold!

Okay, the Olympics! I LOVE to watch and we stayed in, snuggled and watched the Olympics this weekend! I cried with the mogul skiing girls that won gold and bronze for the USA last night. I also loved watching Ohno win the silver in speed skating. So exciting! I yell at the TV. Anybody else? :-)

Olympic Funny Quote of the Day: "Whoever makes it to the finish line first, wins." -Announcer during the Nordic combined.
Hope you had a wonderful Valentines day weekend. Be back soon!

a little rain

Be still sad heart and cease repining;
Behind the clouds the sun is shining,
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
Into each life a little rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary.
-Longfellow

Will be back soon.... Dealing with some family things right now.
