up to?

Hi there! What have I been up to? I'm so glad you asked! I got this crazy idea (I now realize how crazy it was) to make one of these very cool, 7Gypsies ATC holders into a daily calendar and each day is a card with a quote or some kind of inspiration on it. I thought that 365 of these wouldn't take long to make... Why did I think that? I talked myself into making it anyway. I think I'm a little over a quarter of the way finished and I've been working on it off and on for the past week and a half or more. It's been lots of fun, but also lots of work! Anyway, here are some peeks of what I've been doing...
I used a Heidi Swapp ghost clock for the first page. I stamped the clock with Staz-on ink.

elf

Since everyone else is doing it... I think I'll elf me, my sister and hubby. The trick is to use BAD pictures! LOL!

peek.

Here is a little peek of the cover of the cute little Christmas album I'm doing. I'm using lots of the new Making Memories goodies for this one!

better photos.

Here are some better pics of Christmas decor at my house. I taught Libby to pose for pictures for treats early on in her puppy-hood. She'll do anything for a treat.... Hee hee.

I didn't quite get the Christmas album finished for eBay today, so I'm hoping for Saturday since I have to work tomorrow. I'll try and get a sneak peek up soon. Bye for now!

looking like Christmas.

I took a very blurry photo... a peek at my Christmas decor and house. Our tree is in front of some windows and I have started decorating my mantel as well. My tree has blue, green, and silver ornaments. It looks so pretty, I just want to leave it up all year long! More photos later, I promise. Maybe I'll use a tripod next time...

Thankful.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We sure did! That is until yesterday... Our beloved dog, Libby, had what we think was a minor seizure. It was so scary for me! I was very upset and usually, I'm pretty calm in the middle of an emergency. We rushed her to the vet and he said it was probably a seizure and that she may not ever have another one, just keep an eye on her. She also got stung by something on her nose while she was outside helping daddy with the lights. So, maybe that triggered it. Either way, I am SO thankful she is now okay. I love that little girl!
On to happier things... here are some layouts that I did with my Jenni Bowlin kit:

We actually had our photos done professionally for the first time and I LOVE them! (Thank you Jen!) A gal from my work is a part-time photographer on the side and we got her to come to our house and take some beautiful shots while the leaves were still changing.
This next layout was inspired by Keisha Campbell... Very inspired by that talented gal!
Yes, I have so much to be thankful for this year. Thankful that hubby is not deployed to the desert again this year. Thankful my sweet baby dog is okay. Thankful for wonderful, genuine friends. Thankful for our home and so much more. We are blessed.

Advent Calendar.

I was inspired by Ali's Advent calendar and thought I'd try to make one myself! What fun it was! I was so tempted to keep this one for myself, too becuase it looks so cute hanging there in the office. But, I figured I had eBay in mind when I created it, so there it is! I'll make myself one later... I hope... If I can find time...

I didn't quite get this finished today, but I wanted to show you a sneak peek! I love the new Noteworthy line!

long time.

Wow, sorry it's been so long since I've posted! Where does the time go? AND speaking of time, it's the first of November! YIKES! I've got to get busy making Planners!
Anyway, I have something to show you today... I've had this letter rack forever and it was kicking around the office until I finally kicked it out to the garage and thought I'd sell it at the garage sale. Then, one day, while reorganizing (again) I needed something like it. So, I decided I could fix it up a tad and make something new. Here is what I did:

Old letter rack
+ Fabric
+ stamped twill

stitched it onto the fabric & added padded top with pins for attaching notes
So, what's old is new! Have a super Thursday!

sketches.

I've never been a huge "sketcher" when it comes to scrapbooking. Part of my problem is that I have next to zero drawing talent and find it easier to put it together with my supplies. I do, however, like other people's sketches. Have you been to this site before? I tried this sketch by Ali with a few of my Hawaii photos. I took about a zillion from the helicopter. Just couldn't believe the views from the sky! Sketches are good, when I'm not the one drawing them!

this weekend.

It was beautiful here this weekend. We found this cool guy down by the lake. Normally, I'm not into bugs, or anything that creeps or crawls like this, but his hugeness and orangeness caught my eye! I wonder what kind of a butterfly he'll turn into?
Also, my little cutie, Libby. Just love her!

Happy Monday everyone!

feeling creative

Today, I was feeling creative and finished a couple layouts that I stared a while back. I love my new organized-by-color deal I've got going on in my scraproom! I found things I forgot I had, too! More layouts to come, too! This first layout was totally inspired by the fabulously talented Jill Hornby. So cute!

And, did you see Ali's room today? Love it! AND, her book is on it's way to my house right now! Happy Tuesday everyone!

organizing by color

Okay, I used to have my goodies organized by brand and texture, ie. metal, buttons, etc. I've long wanted to organize by color. That's how I scrap, so it makes sense. I'll keep you updated on how it works out and if anyone out there has some suggestions on what they do, please let me know. {insert smiley here}

Sea Turtle

I know, I've been lagging in the layout department! I'm trying to get the journaling and little add ons to finish up those layouts I did while camping. So, here's another Hawaii layout from the camp/scrapping trip.

back.

We made it back! Whew, was that a long drive! 8 hours to be precise. It was well worth it though. Lots of love, family, friends, food... Good food. Cheesecake factory. So did not need those extra carbs, but who can resist the chocolate raspberry truffle? Not me! I'm glad to be back though. Traffic there is too much for me. I guess they just get used to it living there.

Libby did really well in the car for 8 hours. We stopped 3 times on the way down there to give her plenty of time to stretch her legs. She's a good doggie!

Hope you had a great "season premier" week! Hooray for Grey's Anatomy and CSI! Too bad my two favs are on at the exact same time! LOL! Until next time...

Latest.

Let's see... I just finished up this adorable card organizer and listed it here. Also, getting ready for a quick trip to Houston for a wedding and to visit family. Can you say "Road Trip!"? Did not ever find a dress like I wanted, but did get the fabric, sash, etc. to make it. This is laughable since I've never made anything aside from a purse a long time ago. I can stitch on my scrapbook pages though, so it can't be too difficult, right? I'll let you know (and possibly show photos if it's not too embarrassing) when I'm finished with it. So, until next week, have a fabulously creative week! Be back soon!

feeling vintage.

I love the 50's style formal dresses and next week's wedding is a great excuse to get one! Anyone know where I can find them? I'm looking at something like this:

Hawaii layout.

Here is one of the layouts that I got about 80% complete while on our camping trip. Sometimes, I think I get more scrapbooking done on that annual trip than any other time during the year. I'm pretty sure that it has to do with the fact that I don't have ALL of the supplies around me to be overwhelmed by. KWIM? Anyone else have this issue?

enjoying these...

I meant to blog about this a couple weeks ago... I picked these up before I left for camping to have some fresh inspiration on hand. They are both very enjoyable, fresh and different. I found them very inspiring and though I'd share. The Somerset Memories magazine has several projects from a very talented artist that I enjoy very much, Ashley Calder.
Hope you're having a relaxing Saturday!

back from camping.

We just got back from camping at the Little Red River and we had a great time! We caught many fish (we catch and release), and I even tried more fly fishing. I took my scrap stuff (just in case) and got a few layouts pretty well completed. I'll put those up here to show you later. For now, here are some photos from our trip...

Wild flowers all along the bank of the river. So pretty.

little houses

I bought these 3 houses on Etsy (Little Pink Studio) and finally finished them! Hey, it's hard to find snow in August! Well, I used some very cool Iridescent Flakes and spray adhesive for the snow. What fun! It was snowing in the scraproom! I also used these adorable millinery flowers for the roof of a couple of them and in various other places. Love those flowers! Anway, one side of these cuties is for displaying during spring/summer and the other side is wintery. I just love pink and aqua! I will put putting these up in my Etsy shop today sometime.
