Too hot out!

Well, as with most of the US, it's HOT here! So, it's a good excuse to stay inside and scrapbook! Here's the latest...
Also, I'm thinking of making a few project life pages for eBay. {GASP!} We will see! It's been forever that I have made anything for eBay. It's been nice getting my own photos done tho! Haha!

"Cheat" Protectors

Okay, as promised, here are a couple of my layouts I did with what people typically call Project Life pages. I use them for everything mixed in my albums now, not just a week in my life, but vacations, family, events, etc. It really cuts down on how bulky my albums are.

I'm sure I will be creating more layouts using these cheat protectors soon!

Long time, no scrap!

Well, I have been going through my scrapbook room, getting rid of stuff lately. We had a big flooring project going on upstairs where we got new carpet in the bedrooms and installed our own hardwood floors in the family room. So, with everything out of the scrap room/office, I thought it was a good opportunity to clean it out. Pictures will be coming soon. :-)

In the mean time, I have started scrapping some of my Cancun pics from this year. I was a bad scrapbooker and didn't write anything down while we were on vacation, so I'm trying to get it all down now. Haha! I also have been using some "cheat-protectors". You know, the divided Project life ones for my vacation photos since I have so many photos I cannot bear for them not to be scrapbooked! Pics of that coming soon....

A scrappy roll!

I guess you could say I'm on a scrappy roll right now! It helps that I didn't really unpack all of my stuff from the retreat and really want to get 2012 album finished. :-)

Scrap Retreat

My friend had a scrap retreat a couple of weeks ago and although I only got to stay for 1 day of it, I got a lot accomplished! I find it helps speed things along when I gather photos, supplies and ideas into sheet protectors and pack a few things. When I'm at home, I sometimes get overwhelmed with all of the scrapbook choices I have and don't get as much done. Lesson: get rid of some stuff! LOL!

I also packed kits from Studio Calico. That really makes things easy too. Okay, here is what I got done:

Baby Shower

One of my dear friends is having a baby boy! Yay! I recently threw her a shower and have the decorations and some favors up on Etsy. The only downside of Etsy is that you can't post very many photos... So, I'm posting them here... Maybe this will give you some ideas for decorating for an upcoming event? :-)

Scraproom

Okay, I have been meaning to post photos of my scraproom, but it never seems to be just perfect, cleaned, or uncluttered! So, I'm just doing it, so please don't judge. Haha! It's a bit messy, but I love to stay pretty organized and found some things that work great for me and wanted to share.

Thanks to my iPhone, I was able to take a couple of panorama photos:

I also work (real job) from home in this space, so the desk is used for everything. The file cabinet is work stuff, printer and fax, while the rest is mostly scrapbook and craft stuff. I finally got my dream desk by Pottery Barn off Craigslist! Yay!

Starting on the left, is an unfinished nightstand with my sewing machine and of course there's ribbon and other stuff in the drawers.
Then, my Ikea bookcase. Flowers in jars on top sorted by color, baskets hold mini albums, jewelry making stuff, small pads of pattern paper, fabric, card making stuff... Then, my albums by year on the bottom. I use Snapfish to print most of my photos as I get them back, they go in sheet protectors into the albums by date. Also, all journaling goes in these same sheet protectors. Whenever I get ready to scrapbook, I just pull out an album and I'm ready to go!

My desk drawers are handy. I keep the stuff I use the most on the top left (see below):

 Tags, buttons, stamps, date stamp and whatever latest and greatest thing I'm using a lot of lately.
The middle drawer (not pictured) has stickers from 7Gypsies, epoxy stickers and other yummies. The bottom drawer is where I keep all of my alpha stickers, by color. (below):

One of the best ways I found to organize my embellishments is by color. I am very much inspired by color when I scrapbook, so I have stacked 3 drawer boxes one on top of the other with each drawer being a different color or two.

I have been toying with the idea of sorting all of my paper by color, too. But, it will be a huge job and I can typically remember what paper I want to pick out by the brand, so I have not made this leap yet. Any advice or feedback on that would be so helpful! To sort it, or not to sort it!?
I also have a dresser in my room that is between the two windows and an additional bookshelf. This is where my punches (all in a big basket), stamps, rub-on alphas, ink, stamps, extra adhesives, paint, etc. is kept. That will have to wait for another day though, it's messy! :-)
